Kim Saltarski

Director / Producer

Kim Saltarski has spearheaded the production of over 400 hours of inspired, original animation, live-action comedy, and documentary content. He was the executive producer/showrunner on Comedy Network’s Popcultured with Elvira Kurt and the producer of season 2 of Canada’s Worst Driver for Discovery Channel. Kim was the showrunner/director of the epic, cross-Canada survival adventure series Operation Unplugged for travel + escape.

Kim directed and produced the riveting slam poetry documentary IF The Poet for CBC and Amazon US and the international award-winning disability doc Andre The Anti-Giant for Bravo Canada. His eco-anxiety exploration documentary Reimagining Humanity streams on The Green Channel. His two documentaries about medical cannabis, Jack’s Garage and MEND with Dignity, are on Amazon Prime, Tubi and Vimeo On Demand.

Karen Hawes

Director / Producer

Karen Hawes is a CSA-nominated producer with over 25 years of experience delivering projects for TVOkids, Bravo, CBC, NFB, Vision, The Comedy Network, W, Showtime, Discovery Kids and The Family Channel, to name a few. As a documentary filmmaker, her BravoFACTUAL short Good Knight (Aka Batman) screened at the Atlanta International Documentary Film Festival and won the Producers Award at the Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival.

Karen’s latest work includes a 52-episode children’s TV series for TVOkids, Leo’s Fishheads, and Leo’s Pollinators. Most recently, she and Kim co-created and produced a digital web series for Parks Canada called Climate Crew, highlighting the work being done to strengthen resilient ecosystems in the face of our changing climate. Karen has also created projects for Right to Play, the LEGO Foundation, and UNICEF.
